APNA THEATRE SANSTHAN

The APNA THEATRE SANSTHAN was founded by a small group of young, committed Theatre Students in 1992-93 to provide immediate justice to College President. Fifty four street back to back plays were performed on the story of our student leader at different places and at last voice has been heard.  From a very modest beginning as a provoking group, Apna Theatre Sansthan has evolved into a civil society organization pursuing integrated participatory development and advocating human rights. The organization has an authentic and informed perspective of various dynamics. The criterion for undertaking interventions is that they should lead to community self-reliance and empowerment. Thus, its work centers on the unfulfilled needs and ignored rights of partner communities.

Nestled in the heart of the vibrant city of Ajmer, “Apna Theatre Sansthan” has been a beacon of hope and change in the social sector since its inception in 1998. Committed to transforming lives and uplifting communities, this Ajmer-based NGO has tirelessly worked towards the betterment of society across various regions in India.

With a comprehensive approach to social development, “Apna Theatre Sansthan” has been a pioneer in capacity building, skill and livelihood training, community awareness, and social surveys. Their dedication to the welfare of society is reflected in their multifaceted initiatives.

One of the distinctive facets of their work is their engagement in performing arts and print media. These creative mediums serve as powerful tools to disseminate essential messages and provoke positive change within communities.

But “Apna Theatre Sansthan” goes beyond just awareness campaigns. They are on the ground, making a real difference by establishing rehabilitation centers for vulnerable populations such as the elderly, women, and those battling addiction. Their holistic approach addresses not only immediate concerns but also aims for long-term rehabilitation and empowerment.

What sets this NGO apart is its dynamic youth team, which has expanded its work beyond Ajmer to states like Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and the bustling Delhi National Capital Region (NCR).
